Ukraine crisis triggers increase in Polish support for national service


Increasing numbers of Poles favour a return to national service to boost the strength of the country’s armed forces owing to the crisis in Ukraine.
When Poland ditched conscription in 2008 and moved to creating a professional army opinion polls showed 54 per cent of the population backed the idea.
